Public Imagery was founded in 1991 as an art and framing company based in Tampa, Florida. As fate would have it an aspiring restaurateur and his partners had the idea to create an Australian themed steakhouse and contracted Public Imagery (formerly ArtMart) to design and develop a wall décor program that led to the installation of hundreds of locations across multiple brands world-wide. Over the past twenty five years Public Imagery has engaged with industry leading restaurant concepts, retailers, healthcare corporations and general commercial companies to develop national programs for interior branding.
In 2017 the company merged with Creative Palette, a Columbus, Ohio based industry leader in the retail and healthcare interior branding marketplace to form one of the country’s largest providers of commercial art, wall décor, interior signage, architectural solutions and digital print solutions.
Jim joined Public Imagery as its CEO in 2008 and is responsible for the corporate strategy, day to day operations and leads the design initiatives for the company’s industry leading clients. Jim’s direction to take the company from a manufacturer of framed art and sourced décor to creative driven digital provider of branded environments has led to successful long-term clients engagements with Darden Restaurants, dineEquity, Bloomin' Brands and Brinker International.
His design work and the company’s award winning décor packages can be seen in many of today’s leading restaurant and retail brands that include Longhorn Steakhouse, Applebee’s, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Outback Steakhouse, Flemings Prime Steakhouse, Hooter’s, Denny’s, Firehouse Subs, Bahama Breeze, Eddie V’s, Bonefish Grill, MedExpress and Twin Peaks – just to name a few. Jim credits the company’s success to its dedicated talented staff and in 2011 Public Imagery became a member of the Inc 5000 list of fastest growing privately held US companies.
Prior to joining the company Jim co-founded and held executive level positions for a number of companies in the technology and advertising industries. He led branding, interactive marketing and strategy engagements for such clients as America Online, NASDAQ, Tech Data, Monsanto, Genie Industries and Sprint. Jim is a former Division I scholarship athlete – he still enjoys playing competitive tennis and is involved in many philanthropic activities. Jim lives in Tampa, Florida with his two children and his mischievous golden retriever.
National Account Manager
Kevin joined Public Imagery in 2018 and is responsible for managing our national décor program clients, regional accounts, and new business development. With over 25 years of marketing and branding experience, Kevin has worked with a variety of customers in various industries, helping to grow their business and capture market share with customer focused solutions. Prior to joining Public Imagery, Kevin held sales and management positions with companies such as CBS Television and Cox Media Group. Originally from Michigan, Kevin and his wife lived in Charlotte, North Carolina prior to moving to the Tampa area. In his free time, he enjoys following the Tampa Bay Lightning, Rays and Buccaneers, in addition to golf and scuba diving.
Manager of Finance and Administration
John joined Public Imagery in 2014 and is responsible for the financial management, IT, purchasing and the human resource operations of the company. John is an experienced corporate controller and started his career in public accounting at Arthur Anderson. Originally from Western Massachusetts, John is a diehard New England Patriots and New York Yankees fan. Everyone at the company along with a number of John’s relatives are still wondering how that is actually possible.
Director of Project Management
Stephanie joined Public Imagery in 2010 and is responsible for managing our talented team of designers and project managers. She also manages the relationships for a number of our industry leading clients. After a successful career in new restaurant openings for companies such as First Watch and Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Stephanie joined the team to run our installation operations. Promoted to her current position in 2016, she is now a key member of the management team and has been an integral part of the success and growth of our company. Stephanie was one of the few people we know who was actually born and raised in Tampa and she enjoys outdoor activities and crafting. On most weekends you’ll find her and her husband following the exciting world of NHRA racing.
